Department for Education (DfE) changes to The Education (Pupil Registration)(England) Regulations 2006 have removed all reference to family holiday and extended leave as well as the statutory threshold of ten school days.
From 1 September 2013, headteachers are unable to agree leave of absence during term time unless they are satisfied there are exceptional circumstances.
Family holidays should be taken during the 14 weeks of the year that are not school terms. |
