This term we have our exciting trip to Temper Temper Chocolate Factory to inspire and support our learning in Writing. The children will be exploring the famous text 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl, and will be using this to also immerse them when writing narratives, instructional texts and creating advertisements. Our Geography will feature looking at land use within our local area and identifying key symbols that can be found on Ordanance Survey maps. Science has Year 4 exploring sound and how it travels, including if it can travel through solids, liquids and gases.

Spellings

Year 4 will work on a spelling pattern for two weeks. At the end of the unit, the children will be tested on words which contain the pattern.

Weeks 3 and 4

Spelling Pattern Words: Words with the prefix auto-  Examples include: autopilot, autobiography, automatic and so on.

Year 4 Easter Performance

Year 4 are busy learning their lines and hymns for their Easter performance. They will be performing a dress rehearsal to EYFS and Year 1 on Friday 28th March (costumes will need to be in by then please). Then on Tuesday 1st April, they will perform to Years 2-6 in the morning and parents at 2.30pm that same day.

PLEASE ALLOW THEM TO PRACTICE THE SONGS BELOW AT HOME - We will have the real piano for the performances!
