Year 2 Beach Trip
Thu 27 Jun 2024Year 2 trip to the beach
On Thursday Year 2 went on another journey for their final trip of the year. They ventured to the lovely Viking Bay Beach in Broadstairs. The children were so excited getting onto the beach that the first thing they wanted to do was dig in the sand. After hours of sandcastles, digging holes and burying friends (Miss Ross was buried too) it was time to stop for lunch where the adults put on their superhero capes and defeated the seagulls so the children could eat their lunch undisturbed! After lunch Year 2 went on a scavenger hunt to see what they could spot at the beach while the cricket set was unpacked and Miss Sullivan had to help with the rules of beach cricket. Finally, it was time to come home and there were a lot of sleepy children on the bus on the way back. Singing could be heard upstairs while Miss Sullivan had a competition to see how many hats could the children convince her to balance on her head. All in all, a wonderful ending to Year 2! -
Year 3 trip to Gurdwara
Thu 06 Jun 2024Year 3 were fortunate enough to travel by train to visit the Gurdwara in Gravesend to help deepen their learning of the Sikh faith and bring their RE lessons to life. During their time there, they got to see a service in motion where the Guru Granth Sahib was being read, they had a tour around the grand building where they got to admire the architecture, they learnt how to turn a 6 metre piece of material into a turban, they listened to the singing of a Sikh song in the Punjabi language and they were welcomed into the Gurdwara's kitchen: The Langar, where they were served a meal. They had the opportunity to ask plenty of questions and hear from Sikhs about what is important to them in their religion. The children were superbly behaved throughout the trip and showed the utmost respect. Well done Year 3!
