Year 3 trip to Gurdwara
Year 3 were fortunate enough to travel by train to visit the Gurdwara in Gravesend to help deepen their learning of the Sikh faith and bring their RE lessons to life. During their time there, they got to see a service in motion where the Guru Granth Sahib was being read, they had a tour around the grand building where they got to admire the architecture, they learnt how to turn a 6 metre piece of material into a turban, they listened to the singing of a Sikh song in the Punjabi language and they were welcomed into the Gurdwara's kitchen: The Langar, where they were served a meal. They had the opportunity to ask plenty of questions and hear from Sikhs about what is important to them in their religion. The children were superbly behaved throughout the trip and showed the utmost respect. Well done Year 3!
