Outdoor Learning
Our School vision:
Within our school, our vision is to implement outdoor learning within the children's curriculum. This is achieved by every year group having the opportunity to teach at least two lessons of their choice outside each term. Outdoor learning is a vital component of children's development and has been demonstrated to have numerous positive effects.
Implementation:
This will be implemented alongside our school curriculum, by the children having the opportunity to take two lessons a term outdoors. This may include children sketching the landscape, exploring a range of seasons in the forest school, or using a range of natural materials to support children's mathematical learning.
Impact:
This supports children's engagement and motivation to learn by giving them the freedom to explore. Children then have the opportunity to develop their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
