Black History Month

Black History Month 2021 - Proud to Be

October is Black History Month! This year’s theme is ‘Proud to Be.’ The campaign aims to make BHM 2021 personal and unique to individuals, families and communities, focusing on how we’re all making history all the time in our own ways, as well as the contributions and achievements of black people throughout history. The campaign encourages black people to share their life stories and achievements of what they are proud to be.

We are looking to raise the profile of BHM in our school and are looking for family members who would like to share their life story and achievements with the children. This could be through assemblies, talks to a class or even virtually through Zoom. If you have a story to share and are interested please contact Mr Carter or send an email to postbox@holytrinitydartford.co.uk.

We kicked off the celebrations at Holy Trinity with a whole school Worship where the children found out which inspirational black person they will be learning about. We also launched the art competition. The children will be showcasing their learning and finding out the winners of the competition in a Worship at the end of the month.
