The Great Fire of London

We hope you have had a restful and wonderful summer holiday filled with adventure and fun.

As we return to school, get ready to continue your exciting learning journey! Year 2 will begin the year by exploring The Great Fire of London- a disastrous event that, surprisingly, also helped cleanse the city of the dreaded plague. We will discover Samuel Pepys and his famous diary, which provides a timeline of how the fire spread, as well as Thomas Farriner, the baker from Pudding Lane whose bakery is believed to have started the blaze. Pupils will learn how quickly the fire spread and investigate the key factors that fueled its rapid destruction.

P.E DAYS

PE is on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Please make sure that your PE kit is in school ready for PE.

Earrings should not be worn on PE days.

PE Kit

Royal blue polo shirt or T-shirt (must be different from the classroom shirt)

Plain blue or black shorts

Black plimsolls (for indoor PE and dance in the hall)

A spare pair of socks (kept only for PE)

Trainers (for outdoor PE and games on the field or playground)

Tracksuit bottoms (for outdoor PE only)
