Welcome to Year 6!
Welcome to our year group page. Here you can find what we are learning about and any key updates.
Mr Hunter is the class teacher of Swan Class and Miss Coulson is the class teacher of Fox Class. Our teaching assistants are Mrs Scicluna and Mrs Wilders. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to come and see us after school, write a note in your child's contact book, or fill out the form below.
Homework will be 'set' on a Wednesday and should be handed in on a Monday. Pre-learning tasks will also be set across the term. These tasks will give children an advantage in class and will help to bring out what learners already know; what misconceptions they may have and what interests them.
Below are some key documents relating to our class.
Pre-learning shout out!
So you can have an advantage in our lessons at school; here is a look at what we will be learning about at the start of Term 2:
- In Maths the pupils will be learning place value and calculations.
- Pupils will continue their learning about World War I in our Learning Project lessons followed by World War Two. We will be learning a vast range of topics within World War One and World War Two .
- In Science we shall be learning about light.
Our topic this term is Fallen Fields! The sun sets on the battlefields of France and a solitary bugle sounds the Last Post.
Known as 'the war to end all wars' the First World War was a conflict that had a devastating effect on millions of people across the world.
What started this global tragedy? What was life like for families on the home front as they waited for news of loved ones who were 'missing in action'? How did the soldiers endure the terrible conditions in the trenches? How was a fragile peace finally achieved?
We will always remember the fallen.
