Topic

Here is the story of 'How the rhino got his skin'.

All About Rhinos for Kids: Rhinoceros for Children

Today we are going to listen to the African folklore story of 'How the rhino got his skin'. Can you listen carefully to the story and then answer the couple of questions on the PowerPoint about it? These can be done verbally. You might think of your own questions to ask about the story too. I would then like you to watch a video which tells you facts all about rhinos. There are some questions for you to think about on the PowerPoint. Once you have watched the video, I would like you to draw a picture of a rhino and see if you can write about all of the rhino's unique features and how they help it to survive.

Story

We are listening to the story 'Zoo' today. See if you can answer the questions.

Why did the boys start to fight in the car?

Why do you think Mum said that the tiger was  a 'poor thing'?

What did the boys buy themselves from the gift shop?

Why did the boys like the baboons?

Do you think the animals like being kept in a zoo? Why do you think that?

What do you think the boy dreamed about? Look at the last pictures for a clue.

Maths

For Maths today we would like you to do the Maths assessment. Please work through this on your own and try to do it independently. This will be helpful and let us see any knowledge gaps when we return to school.

Science
