Safer Internet Day

Today is Safer Internet Day. As a school, we like to recognise this every year, but this year feels even more important as we are all using our devices a lot more to work from home. I will go through a PowerPoint with you first. We will discuss why we go online and why it can be useful. We will also talk about how we can stay safe online and how anyone can upload anything to the internet and information isn’t always truthful and reliable. I would then like you to create a safe and an unsafe social media page for a fictional character. I have done one for you as an example. You can design it on a piece of paper, or you can use the site that I used to create your own. What details would you include?

SID traditional tales scenarios

Listen to the different scenarios and discuss what you think is the best thing to do for each one. Share your thoughts and ideas with your parents.

Jessie & Friends Ep 2 Sharing Pictures

This is the link for the video that is mentioned in the PowerPoint. Please watch at the relevant point in the lesson.

In this Safer Internet Day activity, we are learning about our trusted adults. Do you know what a trusted adult means? Do you know who your trusted adults are? We learn about what happens when Jessie and her friends share some photos online. They need help from their trusted adult! As a conclusion to the lesson, we would like you to make a 'help hand'.

Keep practicing your spellings, your practice test is tomorrow!
