We cannot wait to see your lovely work and to give you some feedback. Have fun!

For topic today, we are learning the story of Brian Bear's picnic. As you listen to me reading the story, see if you can recognise any repetition and join in. Have a go at re-telling the story yourself and see how much of it you can remember. We are also using our comprehension skills to answer some literal and evaluative questions and we are also looking at some new vocabulary and trying to explain what we think the new words mean. I hope you enjoy this lovely story and we can't wait to see what answers you come up with!

Reading- Florence Frizzball

Our story today is called ‘Florence Frizzball’. Please set the PowerPoint to slideshow and the audio will start automatically, you will then need to click through the slides.

Have a go at answering these questions as you listen to the book. Feel free to write your answers down or discuss them with your parent.

  1. What do you think the story will be about?
  2. How would you describe Florence’s hair?
  3. What are the similarities and differences between you and a family member?
  4. Why can’t Florence see where she is going? What happens to her hair when she runs?
  5. Is your hair similar or different to a member of your family’s hair?
  6. What could Florence do to get her hair out of the way?
  7. How might the hairdresser help Florence?
  8. How could you describe Florence’s new hair style?
  9. Why does Florence not like her new hair style?
  10. Will Florence be able to get her old hairstyle back? How?
  11. How does Florence feel now that her old hair style is back?

In your Maths lesson today you will be ordering groups of objects. In yesterday’s lesson you compared numbers, which is a similar skill. When ordering groups of objects, you will need to count the objects first. You will then need to use your key terminology ‘greatest’ and ‘smallest’ to compare the group of objects. I will go through some warm up questions with you first to show you how to answer the questions. I would then like you to have a go at some practice questions so that you can independently apply these skills. Your main Maths task is uploaded below the Maths PowerPoint in a PDF format. At the end of the PowerPoint are some challenge questions for you to have a go at, remember to explain your answers using your reasoning skills. Try your best! I can’t wait to see your work 😊

Remember to practice your spellings! Your practice test is on Wednesday. Use the hands-on spelling activity guide to help you.
