Learning Project
Today for your Learning Project lesson we have provided you with three different investigations!
We would like you to have a go at at least one of the investigations below.
We completely understand that it is unlikely you will have some of the items laying around your house, so please just complete what you can, when you can, even if it isn't for another couple of days.
You can always send us your predictions whilst you're waiting!
Investigation choice number 1:
We would like you to investigate how effectively you brush your teeth!
For this experiment, you will need your toothbrush and a plaque disclosing tablet, they can be found here: Boots Advanced Plaque Disclosing tablets - Boots
Please note, we are not encouraging anybody to visit any shops, so please do not make a trip especially, but if you are able to get them, then great!
Step 1: Brush your teeth just like you usually would.
Step 2: After brushing, chew a plaque disclosing tablet and check how much coloured plaque remains on your teeth. This will give you an indication of how well you have brushed your teeth. The more colour on your teeth, the more you need to brush in future!
Step 3: Brush your teeth again to remove the remaining plaque.
Step 4: Make a note of how you could improve your brushing. Certain areas? Certain teeth? Amount of time?
We would love to see photos of this in action! Keep us informed.
We have placed some videos below that may help to make this clearer.
Remember to write a prediction detailing what you think your teeth will will look like and then write down what they actually looked like after the investigation. Was your prediction accurate?
Investigation choice number 2:
The second investigation is looking at your teeth impression by biting down on either a styrofoam plate, cheese or fudge. You will then need to take a picture of this and also draw your impression
Investigation choice number 3:
The third investigation is looking at the amount of sugar in the food that we eat. For this experiment there is a video below explaining what you need to do and also a recording sheet to put your results on.
