Maths
In today’s Maths lesson we are looking at representations. A number can be represented in many ways such as counters, dienes, fingers, tallies, in words, the numeral, Numicon or tens frames. By the end of today’s lesson you will understand what a number representation is, you will be able to use your knowledge of tens and ones to help you to work out the number representation and you will be able to use a variety of representations in your work. Please listen to the representation warm-up song, I will go through some warm-up questions with you first to show you how to answer the questions. I would then like you to have a go at some practice questions so that you can independently apply these skills. Your main Maths task is uploaded below the Maths PowerPoint in a PDF format. At the end of the PowerPoint are some challenge questions for you to have a go at, remember to explain your answers using your reasoning skills. I have also uploaded some mastery cards for those of you that want an extra challenge. I have uploaded the answers so you can self-assess and mark your work. Remember the worksheets are categorised by 1 star, 2 stars and 3 stars. You do not need to do all of them, do the one best matched to your understanding and ability. Try your best! I can’t wait to see your work.
