Movers and Shakers

In the Movers and Shakers project, your child will about people who are historically significant and use the words year, decade and century to describe dates and times. They will study the life and impact of remarkable individuals from around the world. They will complete in-depth studies about the people our house teams are named after and will know why we celebrate their lives. We will be discussing how our actions and choices we make effect others and the difference we can make in society. We will also think carefully about the impact these actions have. The children will also carry out an independent study of a significant person from the past and learn about people who are significant today. They will also learn how influential people are commemorated and design a memorial for a person they have studied.

23.11.202 - Today we got to design and paint a Christmas jumper picture which will fill the walls of Darent Valley Hospital along with many other children's pictures. These will reflect the different year we have had in replacing the usual Christmas decorations and bringing a smile to all the amazing people who have worked in the hospital and bring love and hope to the patients who are there over Christmas.

20.11.2020 - In Puffin class we tried some space food. Very mixed reactions however I am pretty certain no one chooses to become an astronaut because of the taste of the food 😉

12.11.2020 - Some of our amazing Pudsey Rockstars in Puffin Class

2.11.2020 - We spent time researching a significant person in history on iPads today. We each chose 1 person to research in a group. Some of the people we researched were Emmeline Pankhurst, Winston Churchill, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, Neil Armstrong and Rosa Parks.
