Term 1 Dinosaur Planet

Our topic this term is Dinosaur Planet. Stomp, crash, RRAGH! Watch out everyone- the dinosaurs are on the prowl! They’re rampaging across the dusty earth, swishing their enormous tails and baring their fearsome teeth… Let’s explore the Dinosaur Planet! Imagine you’re a palaeontologist (that’s a scientist who studies bones and fossils). Dig deep and discover dazzling dinosaur facts. Create your own dinosaur museum and invite visitors to see your awesome dinosaur artefacts. You could even do a dinosaur dance or produce some prehistoric percussion! Which is your favourite dinosaur? The Tyrannosaurus, the Brachiosaurus or the Micropachycephalosaurus? Doyouthinkhesawus? Yes he did….RUN!

Portals of the Past- Dinosaur Visit

Portals of the Past came to our school with their dinosaurs to teach us about paleontology and different types of fossils and dinosaurs. The children had an amazing day and even got to hold a dinosaur egg fossil that had a baby dinosaur fossilised inside. It was amazing. The children also met Mary Anning who told her story from the past and how she discovered one fossil that changed her life! It was a great day!
