Pre-Learning Shout out!
We feel passionately about pupils completing pre-learning as their homework, because it gives them a head start and an insight into what they will be learning the following week.
If they come to class prepared with some pre-knowledge we can take their learning even deeper.

Reading – children are encouraged to read or have a story read to them every night with an adult, talk about the book they are reading and record it in their reading record books. Please encourage the children to use their phonics knowledge to sound out the words. Words that cannot be sounded out are referred to as red words in school. A child's ability to decode words is a very important part of becoming a fluent reader. Being able to read high frequency/sight words without hesitation will help your child better understand what is being read.
