RE

Today in RE we are asking ourselves, ‘what is the Good News that Jesus brings?’ By the end of the lesson you will understand the Good News that Jesus brings, you will be able to write a prayer about the Good News that Jesus brings and you will recap what we learnt last term. I will start off by recapping what we learnt about last term and all of the different ways that Jesus brings Good News. For example, by loving everybody, by being peaceful, by forgiving others and by helping others, brings Good News. There are many times that Jesus shows these examples in his teachings. I would like you to write a prayer about the Good News that Jesus brings, you can use the word bank to help you. I would then like you to write a few sentences recapping what we learnt last term and to summarise the Good News that Jesus brings. Remember to start your sentences with a capital letter, leave finger spaces between your words and end your sentences with a piece of punctuation.

Reading

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKN76BhTbkg

Today’s book is called ‘Superworm!’ by Julia Donaldson and it is read by Storyvision Studios UK. See if you can answer these questions with your parent as you go through the video, make sure you pause the video in places to give you a chance to answer. Feel free to answer the questions verbally or write your answers down if you want to.

  1. What do you think this book will be about?
  2. How did Superworm save the baby toad?
  3. What does ‘mope’ mean?
  4. What is a ‘lair’?
  5. Who will save Superworm from the servant crow?
  6. Will Superworm find the treasure?
  7. What happened to the wizard?
  8. Do you like the ending of the story? Why?

Maths

Today we are going to re-cap our numbers to 50, practicing our sequencing and ordering skills and looking at representations. Work through the questions on the PowerPoint to refresh your memory of all the wonderful learning you did last term. Once you have tried those questions, there are some attached in a PDF. There are 3 varying levels of difficulty to these questions, which is explained on the first page. You do not have to do all of these questions. Some of them may still be a little tricky and this is ok! We are working on problem solving questions which is a difficult skill to develop and can take time, so if your child can only do the questions at level 1, then this is perfectly acceptable.

Art

Have a go at using the ‘Paint’ software on your device to draw your favourite animal. Think about the different colours you could use. Could you change the line thickness? Could you add texture and detailing?

Spellings

Here are your spellings for this week. Practice them by using one of the active spelling methods or by simply writing them down.
