Which games did the Maya play?

Today, we will be doing some research into the Maya ball game. When archaeologists and explorers discovered places like Chichen Itza, they found some strange, sloping walls and ornately carved stone rings. They realised that these were ball courts and that the Maya people used them to play a pretty aggressive and brutal ball game. These ball games, like gladiator games in Roman times, were integral to the Maya way of life. You wouldn't have wanted to be on the losing side though... Follow the powerpoint through and learn more about this fascinating game, write back to Sir Winston explaining your findings and create your own version of the Maya ball game. Have fun!
