How do we present a balanced argument to the prime minister?
Today, you are going to work with your teachers to write your letters to Mr Chamberlain (the prime minister of Britain in 1939) during your registration sessions which have been extended to 40 minutes. They will give you a short input and then you will all be engaged with a live write. They will be there to answer any questions you may have and you can all share what you have achieved at the end. The materials loaded here are to help you to be prepared for this session. There is a PowerPoint to look through to make sure that you are prepared planning-wise and it includes a model text (a pre-written letter so that you can see what you are aiming for) and some word lists that will be useful. To prepare, make sure that you come to the session with paper, pencil or pen and maybe a pre-written set of addresses and date as we will want to focus on the main bulk of the letter with you.
Happy prepping and writing!
