Swan Class - Main Clause, Subordinate Clause, or Relative Clause?
Today, we will be reminding ourselves of the differences between these three different types of clause. What sets them apart? How do they fit into sentences? How do we identify them correctly? We will have some practise at writing our own examples and then move on to separate clauses in pre-written sentences using our knowledge. By the end of the lesson, you should be able to identify the different clauses correctly and this will help you use punctuation like semi-colons, colons and commas more successfully.
Direct and indirect (or reported) speech.
Good morning Fox Class. Today's GPS lesson will be a recap of direct and indirect (reported) speech. You will revise how to determine the difference between direct and indirect speech, how to punctuate them and how to convert a sentence from direct speech to indirect speech. Watch the video below before carrying out the activity.
During this week we will be going through a mini assessment each day to check in on your learning across this term.
Please attempt to answer all the questions from each day in 10 minutes - but if you need a little longer please do take the additional time.
Please do your best to send in your answers each day so that they can be assessed by myself. Please feel free to answer the questions in whichever style is best for you.
