https://www.partnershipforchildren.org.uk/uploads/Files/PDFs/Resilience%20Activities/Worry%20Jar.pdf

You may be worrying about a few things right now. A lot has been changing, we can’t see our friends, family or go to school. A worry jar is a great place to put your worries, so you don’t have to think about them all the time. Follow the instructions in the link to make your own worry jar. You can take 10 minutes a day to discuss your worries and to try and find a solution to them.

Topic

This week as part of our Memory Box topic we have been looking at different celebrations. Most of our happiest memories are when we can gather together to celebrate. We have looked at weddings, birthdays and Christenings. Today we are going to find out about Eid al-Fitr. Do you know what Eid is? Who celebrates Eid? What happens during Eid? Have you got a picture from Eid that could go inside your memory box? I would like you to listen to the slides to find out about Eid. I would then like you to create your own mehndi designs. I can’t wait to see your work!

Can you answer these recall questions?

Why couldn’t the worm hear what the Rhyming Rabbit said?

Who in the story had 100 legs?

Which animal wanted to gobble up all the rabbits?

Why did the mole tell the Rhyming Rabbit to be quiet?

Why do you think the Rhyming Rabbit was happy when he met the sheep?

For maths today, we are looking at fact families, or swapsies (as we like to call them!). We have already done this with numbers to 10 but today we are developing our knowledge of numbers and doing it with numbers to 20. To create fact families for a sum, we have to work out the 2 addition sums and 2 subtraction sums that can be made with the same 3 numbers. For example; 12 + 3 = 15, 3 + 12 = 15 and now I need to work out the 2 subtractions: 15 - 3 = 12, 15 - 12 = 3. There should be 4 sums for every set of fact families. Work through the PowerPoint to practice this skill. You then have a practical activity to do. You can make your own 10s frames and use whatever objects you can find to help you work out the sums on the sheet.

Spellings

Please take your final spelling test of this week. How did you do? Did you improve your score from Wednesday?
