Happy Chinese New Year!!!!


Today we will be celebrating and learning all about the Chinese New Year. 


Why does the Chinese calendar have different animals?  How many animals are there?  What animal represents 2021?  What do the people of China do to celebrate the New Year?  What activities do they do? What special food do they eat?  There is lots to find out.....!


Use your maths skills to break the code to read the secret messages. 

Make and decorate a Chinese lantern. 

Read a Chinese New Year poem and investigate rhythm and rhyme. 

Learn some Mandarin. 

Learn how to fold paper (origami) to make a Good Fortune puppet. 

Send your own red envelope to a family member or friend.
