How COVID-19 has affected the use of assessing at Holy Trinity
Due to COVID-19 our school have restructured our assessment system this year ensuring it is as purposeful as possible for our pupils. Therefore, we have used baseline assessments in September to analyse any gaps in learning pupils may have had. Teachers then planned and taught their classes in accordance to this and ensured the correct interventions were being used in their year groups.
Due to the second lockdown this process was repeated in March. Pupils will undergo end of year assessments in June to assess their attainment and progress over this year.
The Key Stage 2 SATs have been cancelled by the government, as a school we will be holding mock SATs in June for our Year 6 pupils so that they can have the experience of formal assessments before they go to secondary school as well as the opportunity to have an achievement in their academic subjects at the end of their journey of Primary School.
