Clever Fingers is one of our most popular activities - from popping bubble wrap to fidget spinners, from playing Pop Up Pirate to threading beads - it's fun, motivating and best of all it helps develop fine motor skills.
Here are some ideas, but most activities can be adapted from household objects such as toilet rolls, uncooked pasta and rice. We will be posting some more ideas and challenges over the next few days.
Challenge 1
Buttons, laces and zips!
Being able to do up your own buttons, zips and shoe laces is a great achievement.
How long it takes you to do up your coat, shoes or shirt? Can you do it quicker? Maybe you could challenge someone in your family to race you!
Don't forget to let us know how you're getting on!
Challenge 2
Pasta and an egg box
Can you pick up spaghetti using tongs or tweezers? Or even just your fingers? If that's easy, try grains of rice. Have a look at the video below showing some ideas you can do at home with a few bits of pasta and an empty eggbox. Don't worry if you haven't got exactly the same items at home - I'm sure you can come up with your own ideas! Let's see how creative you can be and let us know how you get on.
HAVE FUN!
