Year 5 - Otters & Kingfishers

Welcome to Year 5!

Welcome to our class page! Here you can find what we are learning about and find any key updates.

Mr Sutherland is the class teacher of Kingfisher Class and Mr Bennett is the class teacher of Otter Class. Our teaching teaching assistant is Mrs Andrews. We also have two students from the University of Greenwich on placement, Miss. Whittington and Miss. Andrews.

If you ever need to know anything about your child's learning or have any questions, please feel free to come and see us after school, pop a note in the contact book or fill out the form below.

To take Accelerated Reader quizzes log-on here, to practice handwriting through LetterJoin click here and to complete Mathletics homework click here (2 Mathletics tasks are set every Wednesday, these tasks are pre-learning for upcoming topics). For curriculum coverage an overview can be found in the National Curriculum for Year 5.

There are some changes to homework this year so please see the below homework overview for detail. Homework will be 'set' on a Friday and should be handed in on a Wednesday. Pre-learning tasks will also be set across the term. These tasks will give children an advantage in class and will help to bring out what learners already know; what misconceptions they may have and what interests them.

Below are some key documents relating to our class.

A reminder that the homework overview has now move to here (Home>>Teaching and Learning>>Homework>>Year 5)
