Our topic this term is Land Ahoy! During this learning project we will be learning about all things nautical! We will be learning about pirates, famous sea explorers, seas and oceans, lighthouses, boats and ships, the RNLI and maps. We will be visiting the Cutty Sark and the National Maritime Museum and we’ll be visited by the RNLI.
Muck, Mess and Mixtures (Term 3)
This term our learning project is called ‘Muck, Mess and Mixtures’. This is a ‘science’ focussed learning project where we will be exploring and investigating chemical reactions, writing science reports, making bread (with the help from parents) and many more hands on science-based learning activities.
Our topic this term is ‘Towers, Tunnels and Turrets'. This is a history and geography focused learning project where we will be visiting Tonbridge Castle, looking at and comparing structures around the world, exploring the world of burrowing animals and designing and making our own structures from suitable materials.We will be using traditional tales such as 'Rapunzel' and 'Princess and the Pea' plus Anthony Brown's 'The Tunnel' to further our learning and writing.
Our topic this term is ‘Wriggle and Crawl’. During this learning project we will be learning about insects, we will be re-creating some Eric Carle masterpieces, creating snails from clay, bringing the life cycle of an insect to life through animation and will be making healthy caterpillar fruit kebabs! We will also be heading to Shorne Country Park on a mini-beast hunt in week 2.
