What are we learning about this week?

This week our learning will be linked to two books; We're Going on a Bear Hunt and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  If you have these books at home then please share them with your children, encourage them to join in and towards the end of the week see if they can tell you the story.  You could have a go at acting the stories out or ask them to draw a picture of their favourite part.

In Maths we will be focusing on ordering objects by length or height.  You could reinforce this at home by asking the children questions about things that are bigger/smaller, longer/shorter and taller/shorter.  You could also do this through play and ask them to order the size of their teddies, cars etc.

We are encouraging the children to become more independent by putting away their own things and tidying up, this could be practised at home.  We are also working on them recognising and writing their own names.

We will continue to talk about how we are special.  We will be discussing how people make us feel special and how to treat others to make them feel special.  You could tell the children how they make you feel special and suggest they do things to make others feel special, for example giving someone a hug or drawing them a picture.

Our Christian value for this term is Friendship.
