This week is Science week! We will be discussing what our 5 senses are and why they are important. We will be focusing on a different sense everyday. The children will have the opportunity to use all 5 senses during the week with lots of exciting activities planned.
We will be reading the story Oliver's vegetables and discussing what the different fruit and vegetables that have been sent into school look like, feel like and how they taste. Please feel free to send in any extra fruit or vegetables you have at home as we will be creating a shop where the children will have the opportunity to 'buy' and then eat the food.
In Maths we will be asking the children to estimate and asking the children to discuss why it is important to know how to estimate. Later in the week we will be ordering items by weight and capacity.
We are celebrating and recognising children's success in all areas, to help them to feel confident and support them to feel good about their own success. We are giving children the opportunity to explore and talk about what they are learning, showing them that we value their ideas and ways of doing things.
This term we will have 5 high frequency words a week that we will be learning during our phonics lessons. The 5 words for this week are
in, he, I, of, it
