Our learning this term:
Take a moment to step outside and stand quietly and still. Turn off all your technology and try to forget the modern world. Imagine this place 5000 years ago. What would you have seen?
Head back to prehistoric times (it’s a long time ago) to gather berries and hunt down dinner. Unearth ancient objects and visit astonishing mystical monuments that reveal the secrets of an ancient time.
Learn how the people of Britain developed over thousands of years, from the Stone Age to the Roman invasion.
What tribal tales will you have to tell?
We had a fantastic time with Sally the archaeologist today. We learnt lots of new information that will help us with our topic Tribal Tales. However, we really impressed Sally with how much we already new about the Bronze Age. Our Pre-Learning really did help us!
The first thing we did today was sit in a horse shoe and share all our wonderful facts all about the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic era. Then we got put into groups of six and we had to make freeze frames - it was really fun. Sally made us sit in a big circle and we had to think about how Cavemen communicated - they didn't use words like we do, instead they grunted and used their body language and facial expressions. We all had to walk around the room acting like cavemen grunting and pointing at things. Some people's facial expressions were very funny!
Sally then got us to do some drama - this was so much fun! In our groups, we were given a picture that we had to act out, the rest of the class had to guess what we were doing. Some groups were hunting prey, some were making fires and others were painting in caves. To try and challenge us, Sally asked us to put the photos into a timeline. We got them all right! We are Bronze Age experts!
