After a delayed coach, and some slight traffic on the M3 the Year 6's finally landed on the Isle of Wight around 1pm. They had a little stop off at Osborne House http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/osborne/ for a tour of Queen Victoria's rural summer retreat house before heading on to the PGL site.
I have spoken to Mrs Hudson who informed me that they were playing ambush after a lovely meal in the canteen, all children are happy and enjoying the first day!
Keep checking for updates!
Our first full day here at PGL has been fun-filled and jam packed! Different groups have had different activities today, including fencing, tunnel trails, archery and teamwork challenges. During one of the challenge courses 2 of our groups beat the PGL record of getting their team over the climbing wall with their instructor saying they 'had never seen such brilliant team work!' As ever our pupils are doing themselves and our school very proud! We sing everywhere we go, so be prepared for plenty of great, catchy songs to fill you minds once we're home and Juanita has made up her own version for Holy Trinity!
All pupils have had their dinner followed by lots of birthday cake for Victor and Leon! They are now enjoying a campfire, singing their hearts out, in between scoffing marshmallows of course!
Looking forwards to another busy day tomorrow!
Well what a lot of rain! But if you think that stopped us, you'd be very mistaken! What an eventful day we have had! With a mixture of a survival courses, zipwiring through the trees and buggy building it is fair to say we got a bit wet, but my oh my fun was had! Followed by dinner and a real life version of Cluedo for the evening entertainment. All are now back in their cabins, showering and getting ready for bed. We need those energy levels to be high in anticipation for tomorrow's activities - kayaking here we come!
After packing our bags, stripping our beds and taking them to house keeping, we headed off for our last PGL breakfast.
This morning we have our last two activities before we fill our tummies up on lunch for the journey home, which starts when we board the coach at 1.30pm. See you soon!
